Objective

Remote workers need a dedicated workspace. While many enjoy working from home, some prefer to change their environment occasionally. Others may be visiting a new location and still need a place to work. This application allows users to input their criteria to find a suitable workspace.

Conduct a week-long design sprint to develop a B2C application specifically for helping remote workers find suitable workspaces.

1. User-Friendly InterfaceIntuitive Design: Ensure the app is easy to navigate, with a clean and straightforward interface.

Quick Onboarding: Simplify the sign-up and onboarding process to get users started quickly.

2. Comprehensive Workspace DatabaseExtensive Listings: Provide a broad range of workspace options, including cafes, co-working spaces, libraries, and more.
Regular Updates: Keep the workspace database updated with the latest information and new listings.

3. Advanced Search and FilteringCustomizable Filters: Allow users to filter workspaces by various criteria such as location, amenities (Wi-Fi, power outlets, quiet areas), price, and accessibility.

Geolocation Integration: Use geolocation to suggest nearby workspaces based on the user's current location.

4. Detailed Workspace InformationDescriptions and Photos: Include detailed descriptions, high-quality photos, and user reviews for each workspace.

Amenities and Services: Highlight available amenities like high-speed internet, comfortable seating, food and beverage options, and meeting rooms.

5. User Reviews and RatingsFeedback System: Implement a system for users to leave reviews and rate their experiences at different workspaces.

Verified Reviews: Ensure reviews are from verified users to maintain credibility.

6. Booking and AvailabilityReal-Time Availability: Show real-time availability for workspaces that require reservations.

Booking System: Provide an easy booking system for reserving workspaces, including payment processing if applicable.

7. Personalized RecommendationsUser Preferences: Save user preferences to offer personalized workspace recommendations.

Machine Learning: Use machine learning algorithms to suggest workspaces based on past behavior and preferences.
Design a clean and simple interface with an intuitive UI to help users navigate finding a place to do remote work based on location and there personal criteria.

Crazy 8's. A sketching exercise that challenges participants to create eight distinct ideas in eight minutes. This approach allows for generating multiple concepts and selecting the best ones to develop further.

I then created a low fidelity storyboard using the crazy 8's.

Final Thoughts

Users found the flow intuitive and appreciated the filter for generating results. They wanted the application to open directly in Google Maps or Apple Maps after booking a location, rather than using its own location service. While users enjoyed the concept, many felt the service lost its value after a month or two, as they would cancel it once they discovered their favorite spots. Most users easily navigated the interface and liked the layout, though some preferred a different color scheme and suggested a lighter mode.
